This has a really great Layton vibe to it, The characters are rendered very well. I think if you went back and added some more contrast, especially to the background, it would help make everything look more dimensional. Making the animal on the ledge stand out a little more, maybe by lining it darker would help to; it's almost lost in the background.
The way you manipulated lighting is brilliant; it plays well off of the characters' faces. The proportions are even, and the simple yet detailed portrait is pleasing to the eye. Your simple expressions capture the essence of each character, with Emmy's spunk, Luke's innocent curiosity, and Layton's elegance.
Looks really nice, Kila. I like the colors. They're very warm and soft. I'm impressed with the huge scene. I think maybe the impression of sky/greenery outside the window would have been nice. As it is, the cat kind of looks like it's coming down from heaven or something which may add to the creepy factor. XD I also think a bit more contrast where they are sitting on the couch could plant them down a bit more. Very impressive piece, though.
Wooooow! Super cute dear! So happy for you you finished some art for yourself! I don't know what that cat is or if it is important at all or just a cat for the sake of a cat there but the picture is lovely! Easy cosplay some time could maybe be Emi no? NOW MAKE TIGER BUNNY!!!! >: D
